No Kinging

Making Good Trouble on Main Street

Scraps of history are swept up for future generations to discern the true meaning of what it all meant, like reading tea leaves.

This small gathering in a backwoods Maine town projected a positive message: “We love our country and will do what we can to protect its democracy.” There were 90+ physically in attendance. You can hear in the recording the honks of encouragement from cars passing in the background. The attendees lined the sidewalk, bundled up against the cold, basking in the warmth of solidarity.

Over 8-million people in America participated in this third No Kings Rally. I was a witness. I didn’t have a sign. I wasn’t chanting or singing. I was there to record and then transmit on radio’s airwaves to the masses that “there’s something happening here,” signaling that no one is alone and our Constitution, flawed and fragile as it may be, is worth protecting.
